From Casla in Connemara, Ireland - through An Gort Mór and leaving the coast road. Taking the small inland road on your right towards Roundstone will bring you along one of the most breathtaking drives in the country. Stopping along the way and looking northwards will reveal a vast pristine landscape jeweled with small lakes and fringed by the Mamturk Mountains. I could sit there forever.
This painting depicts this scene and evokes it special atmosphere as the clouds rolling off the Atlantic intermingle with the evening light ,glistening on the lakes below. The little cottages appear tiny and vulnerable against this vast landscape and incoming weather.
