This is the native Irish Wild Cherry tree which turn a beautiful deep purple in Autumn. I was stuck by the richness of it's last show of colour against the ever darkening days as Winter draws in. To me this is the most poignant part of Autumn as the trees cling to the last few leaves before Winter settles over the land.
